This hybrid design is highly preferred for asphalt paving. The front drum handles the primary flattening, while the rear rubber tires provide a "kneading" effect that helps seal the surface, resulting in a denser and smoother finish with a reduced risk of fracturing the newly laid asphalt during sharp turns
